Terms & Conditions

By purchasing from DC Joinery & Garden Rooms, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not, please contact us before delivery or collection. Not all products include installation—please confirm availability with our team. In case of any conflict, these terms take precedence over verbal statements.

Timber & Natural Variations
Wood is a natural material that reacts to weather conditions and may:
  • Crack, warp, twist, split, shrink, or swell.
  • Contain knots and color variations.
These do not affect structural integrity and are not covered under warranty.

General Maintenance Advice
  • Annual wood treatment is recommended to prevent weather-related splitting.
  • Remove sap with soapy water or a specialist product.
  • Keep ventilation clear to prevent dampness/mold.
  • Ensure a solid, level base for proper support.
UPVC Cladding
  • Freefoam cladding is low-maintenance and weather-resistant. For best results, clean with a PVC cleaner or warm soapy water.
  • A pressure washer can be used (at half power) occasionally to remove dirt and stains.
Garden Structures
  • Windows/doors may need adjustments over time.
  • Secure items inside without restricting natural expansion of wood.
  • Keep roofs free of debris to avoid water pooling.
Garden Offices, Summerhouses & Sheds
  • Adjust doors periodically.
  • Keep drainage holes clear.
  • Check before attaching fixtures to walls or roof.
Building Regulations
  • Buildings over 15m² must be placed 1m from boundaries.
  • Our buildings are not intended for residential use—check regulations with your local council.
Delivery & Installation
  • A responsible person must be present at delivery.
  • Ensure clear access for our team (no narrow spaces, fences, or obstructions).
  • Missed or rescheduled deliveries/installs may incur a £100 recall charge and potential storage fees.
Payment & Ownership
  • Payments must be made in full at least one working day before delivery.
  • We accept card and bank transfers (no cheques or cash on delivery).
  • Buildings remain property of DC Joinery & Garden Rooms until fully paid.
Returns & Cancellations
  • Cancellations must be made before dispatch for a full refund.
  • Custom-made items are non-refundable.
  • Returns (for non-faulty items) must be unused, in original packaging, and may be subject to a restocking fee (10%-40%).

Refunds

  • Refund requests must be made within 14 days of delivery.
  • Products must be unopened, in original packaging.
  • We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return to let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. 

Defects & Warranty
  • 12-month guarantee covers:
    • Glazing
    • Ironmongery
  • 40-year guarantee on EPDM rubber roofs (rubber only).
  • Natural timber changes (cracking, twisting, knots) are not defects and are not covered.
  • Any defects must be reported within 7 days with photo evidence for assessment.
  • Electrical faults will be covered under parts warranty for 12 months. After this period, please contact our third-party electrician team.
Force Majeure & Insurance
  • We are not liable for delays due to unforeseen events (e.g., extreme weather, strikes, accidents).
  • Customers must ensure their building is covered under home insurance—storm damage is not included in our guarantee.
